The Difference Between Koi Naturals CBD Oil & CBD Vape Juice

With such an infinite variety of CBD products to choose from, it can get a bit confusing to sort through the nomenclature – especially for newcomers to the CBD world. People often ask us, “What is the difference between CBD oil and CBD vape juice?” In this post we'll take a look at the fundamental differences between these two popular products starting with their ingredients.

Koi Naturals CBD Tinctures vs. Koi CBD Vape Juice

With a nearly infinite variety of CBD products to choose from, sorting through the nomenclature can get a bit confusing – especially for newcomers to the CBD world.  People often ask us, “What is the difference between Koi’s CBD Tinctures and CBD Vape Juices?” First, let’s take a look at the fundamental difference between ingredients in the two products.

Koi Naturals CBD Tinctures: Ingredients include Koi PRIZM™ Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract, coconut oil, and flavor extracts that vary with each  product.

Koi CBD Vape Juice: Ingredients include 100% natural cannabidiol (CBD) isolate, food-grade vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, and flavor extracts  that vary with each product. The differences don’t end with the ingredients, however. These two CBD products are administered differently and are intended for specific applications.

Using Koi Naturals CBD Tinctures

The most direct way to take Koi tinctures is orally or sublingually. This means applying a dropperful under the tongue and holding it there for about 30 seconds before swallowing. Holding the tincture under your tongue allows time for CBD to absorb into the body. CBD oil tinctures can also be added to foods or beverages and, in fact, we have developed several great recipes that show how Koi Naturals tinctures can be incorporated into your daily routine.

Using Koi CBD Vape Juice

Our vape juice is designed to be used in a CBD vape device, such as  a vape mod or vape pen. Many types of vaping tools come with refillable cartridges, so that once you have finished off one batch of vape juice, you can remove the cartridge, refill it, and you’re good to go. People generally choose to use CBD vape juice because they want to inhale CBD or because they enjoy the act of vaping.  Additionally, many people who are trying to kick habits like smoking cigarettes often switch to vaping.

Different Applications, Different Effects

The amount of time it takes to feel the effects of CBD vary based on the way CBD is taken. Tinctures usually take about 30 to 60 minutes to begin working, and the effects can last as long as 5 or 6 hours as the CBD is slowly absorbed into the body through the digestive system . Vaping, on the other hand, tends to take effect much more quickly as the inhaled CBD is absorbed directly into the blood through the lungs. With vaping, the CBD is absorbed into the blood within a few milliseconds and so the effects occur quickly and dissipate thereafter as the CBD is eliminated from the body.

Broad Spectrum Hemp vs. CBD Isolate

Koi Naturals CBD Tinctures include multiple cannabinoids in addition to CBD. Our PRIZM™ Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract contains multiple cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, including CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, and CBDa. These naturally-occurring compounds have a synergistic effect, working together to produce a bigger impact on the body’s endocannabinoid system.  Koi Vape Juice, by contrast, does not contain a broad spectrum of cannabinoids, but instead includes pure CBD isolate. This allows the user to more easily control their cannabinoid intake and gauge the effect while vaping.

It’s your call!

Whether you use CBD Tinctures or Vape Juice is entirely up to you, your lifestyle, and your preferences for how to incorporate CBD into your daily routine. You may already know which one you think will work best for you, or you might want to try both methods. Some people find that different times of day call for different routes of administration and will utilize both products as part of their daily wellbeing routine. When choosing your products, keep in mind that  Koi Tinctures and Koi Vape Juices should only be used for  their intended purposes. You wouldn’t want to use a tincture in your vape device because the tincture oil will not vaporize properly, resulting in damage to your vaping device. And while taking Koi Vape Juice orally or sublingually is possible, the flavor profile is often viewed as unpleasant: the ingredients that give you a rich vaping experience don’t actually taste that great when taken directly. At the end of the day, the most effective CBD product is going to be the one that you’re able to keep taking on a regular basis. In addition to tinctures and vape juices, there are many other products available for  incorporating CBD into your daily routine such as gummies and soft gels, topicals, shots, inhalers, and more. We encourage you to explore the multitude of formulations that Koi CBD has to offer. And as always, we’re here to help. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!
